STREET HAVEN'S 45TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

On October 28th, 2010, Street Haven celebrated 45 years of caring for women in downtown Toronto at the City of Toronto Archives.  The Honourable David C Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario started the evening with a warm speech about Street Haven’s work.  All of the presenters were wonderful and gave all of us some more insight on the people and programs of Street Haven.

The entertainment featured Hamdi Korshel, spoken word artist, Raging Asian Women, (RAW), Taiko Drummers and our own Street Haven choir.

Guests also enjoyed the 2 wonderful exhibits that honoured the women of Street Haven and their stories designed by Jennifer Carter, Cynthia Roberts and Vanessa Fleet of the Museum Studies Program at the University of Toronto while nibbling on the fantastic food from Friend’s Catering.

Thank you to everyone who made this event a success.
