Programs & Services
Donations towards programs and services allow us to enhance, support and develop our core services. We gratefully acknowledge our government funders for the essential funding of our core services. Our donors also provide an essential support that gives us the opportunity to provide more nutritious meals, more tutoring, better learning materials, opportunities for recreational and therapeutic programming, tokens, volunteer development, a garden, and much, much more.
Peggy Ann Walpole Scholarship
In memory of the founder of Street Haven and to honour her life, the Peggy Ann Walpole Scholarship was established in 2006. The purpose of the scholarship is to support Street Haven clients to pursue in post secondary education and training opportunities in the areas of social work or nursing. To date, we have awarded 5 women with the Peggy Ann Walpole Scholarship Scholarship to help defray the costs of tuition as they pursue their dreams. Four recipients are studying social work and one is studying nursing.
Our residential programs – Emergency Shelter, Supportive Housing and Addictions Services – are housed in turn of the century buildings that are warm and welcoming and require upkeep and maintenance. Your support for capital costs helps us with maintenance, renovations when necessary, major painting and landscaping. Buildings have cycles of needs and we work hard to keep our buildings at optimal levels so they continue to serve us in the work we do.
